JOHANNES BOSBOOM *33 is shown in being able to delight us with whatin other less imaginative hands would onlybe realistic copies of cold interiors of churches,or peasants homes, with no living interestin them. Yet such ordinary material thisalchemist is able to turn into pure gold. Bosboom was of a very sociable and agree-able disposition, and was very much liked andlooked up to by his fellow artists.
