Description
Português: o médico de formação, jornalista, historiador e teatrólogo José Ricardo Pires de Almeida (1843-1913) escreve que a primeira representação do Otelo de Ducis (que não era negro, mas que assim foi interpretado por João Caetano), foi em 26 de agosto de 1838, no Teatro de São Pedro de Alcântara. Era uma tradução de Gonçalves de Magalhães. “João Caetano vestia como Anderson, no Delson Othello, traje que figura, em estampa, na obra italiana de Cesare Vecellio”.
