Summary[edit]

Description
English: A portion of Jeffrey City, Wyoming, as viewed from the highway. This is one of the most intriguing ghost towns I have come across, simply because it was built in a short time and was (mostly) abandoned just as quickly. Some of the structures were moved to nearby Lander, but many- including a huge school and a hotel complex- still remain as a ghostly reminder of the past. Today, not much more is occupied than a few houses and trailers, a gas station turned pottery studio, a restaurant, and a Southern Baptist church. The lighting was terrible on the day I took this, and I could only lighten the photo a little with GIMP, but at least one more town has its mug up on the Commons.
