The tramp barn near Syosset was raided last week by officers Jacob Mann, John Healey, Joseph Keller of Hicksville, William Wood of Glen Cove, and Jarvis Lattin of Oyster Bay. Eleven tramps were captured and brought before Justice William M. Simonson who gave them ninety days each in the county jail. The sentence was considered too severe by a number of the taxpayers, as the taxpayers will have to pay for the board of those tramps for that long time and it will foot up to quite a sum of money. Others say that it will be a benefit to the community and save as from many robberies and depredations.
