Interior of a Loop Trolley car in service, while westbound on Delmar Blvd. east of Kingsland Avenue in University City, Missouri (in the St. Louis metropolitan area), being followed by a bus on MetroBus route 97. This is looking towards the rear of the car. Loop Trolley's vehicles can be operated from either end, so an operator's station and controls are visible in this photo, but no operator is present because the trolley car was moving in the opposite direction at the time of the photo. This car is one of two streetcars in the Loop Trolley fleet that were originally built for the Portland Vintage Trolley service (in Oregon) and are replicas of 1903 J. G. Brill trolleys. For use on the Loop Trolley, their original rattan-upholstered seating with two seats on each side of the aisle was replaced with wooden-bench seating laid out with two sides on one side of the aisle and longitudinal bench along the other side. |
