Description
English: Plaque remembering the found of Eulalia's body in 878 in St. Mary's from where it was afterwards moved to the shrine dedicated to Eulalia in the crypt of Barcelona Cathedral. The plaque was first located at the shrine and later moved to a museum. Transcription of the inscription as published by A. Hübner: requiescit beata Eulalia mar[ty]ris Chr(ist)i, qui passa est in civitate Barchinona sub Daciano preside II id(u)s F(e)b(ruari)as et fuit inventa [a Fr]odoino ep(iscop)o cum suo clero in domu s(an)c(t)e Marie k(a)l(endis) No(vem)br(is) deo gra(tia)s. The plaque refers to Frodoino who was bishop in Barcelona from 861 to 890.
Date This photo was published first by Antonius Elias de Molins: Catálogo del Museo provincial de antigüedades de Barcelona, Barcelona 1888, and then reprinted in Hübner's book in 1900.
