By using diagonal sensing elements, all elements are kept short, just 1.4 x the height of the touchscreen.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Multiplexed x/y touchscreens have sensing elements that are as wide as the touchscreen. This limits how wide these touchscreens can be, due to the increased resistance of these elements . With this diagonal layout, however, the sensing elements remain short, no matter how wide the touchscreen, enabling an infinite number of new elements to be added as required , resulting potentially in the possibility of infinitely wide touchscreens .
