Select a pine block, plane and trim it tothe dimensions of the design, make allow-ance for the thickness of the linoleum, sothat the block with the linoleum glued onit will be type high or 11-12 in. After Block-Printed Poster by High SchoolStudents Care should be taken to protect the surfaceof the linoleum from scratches and dents. In transferring the design to the linole-um, the original drawing is traced on asheet of transparent paper, which is re-versed, and with a sheet of carbon papertraced on the top of the linoleum. Thepaper may be fastened to the linoleum withthumb tacks to prevent it from movingwhile the tracing is being don?. The hektograph method is a very suc-cessful method of transfer. The lines ofthe original design are first gone over withthe hektograph ink.
