Description
English: Old Cemetery (Alter Friedhof) at School Street (Schulstraße) in Ibbenbüren, Kreis Steinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The cemetery was opened in 1837 and finally closed in 1972. Since 1984 the burial place is a listed cultural heritage monument.
Deutsch: Alter Friedhof an der Schulstraße in der Innenstadt von Ibbenbüren, Kreis Steinfurt, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland. Auf dem Friedhof, der von 1837 bis 1972 in Betrieb war, befinden sich Grabmale bedeutender Ibbenbürener Bürger. Kultur- und ortsgeschichtlich von besonderer Bedeutung sind die Grabsteine und Eisenkreuze aus dem 19. Jahrhundert. Seit 1984 steht der Bestattungsplatz komplett unter Denkmalschutz.
