Deutsch: Nach Zerstörung im Zweiten Weltkrieg wiederaufgebautes Teil eines ehemaligen kaiserlichen Kasernengebäudes in Franfurt-Bockenheim, Rödelheimer Straße. Frankfurt verlor 1866 mit der Annexion durch Preußen seine gesamten eigenen militärischen Einrichtungen. Wie jede größere preußische Stadt wurde es bald wieder Garnison. Von 1870 bis 1873 entstand in Bockenheim (1895 eingemeindet) eine Kavalleriekaserne (später Artilleriekaserne). Erster Regimentschef des preußischen Husaren-Regiment „König Humbert von Italien“ (1. Kurhessisches) Nr. 13. war König Humbert von Italien; Von 1875 bis 1902 lag das Regiment in Frankfurt-Bockenheim. Seine Ernennung durch Kaiser Wilhelm II. galt als ersten öffentlichen Akt der Courtoisie (Freundschaftsbeweis) gegenüber König Humbert. Der König besichtigte 1896 an einem halben Tag den größten Teil des in Frankfurt-Bockenheim garnisonirenden in Parade aufgestellten Regiments unter großem Anteil der Bockenheimer Bevölkerung. Ein Ölgemälde von Adolf Wald will an diesen Tag erinnern. |
