Summary[edit]

Description
English: This image of a disembodied human head and a fleshless ribcage appeared in a 1922 advertisement for the patent medicine "S.S.S." (intended to make users fat). The advertisement asks if non-users can "see (their own) ribs", implying that anyone who does not use S.S.S. will be malnourished.
