Hozu to Know New York. 69 tic merit. High mass is given at 10.30 a.m., on Sunday, and vespersat 4 P.M. The cathedral is open every day of the week. Seats in thecentre may be had at high mass for 25 cents (on the sides for 15cents), tickets being procured from the verger near the main entrance,inside. St. Paul the Apostle, at 60th Street and Ninth Avenue, pertains to thecelebrated preaching Order of Paulists. whose monastery adjoins it.It is an immense and sombre pile of gray stone, with an asceticinterior, singularly devoid of ornament, but impressive from its greatsize. The main portals are flanked by statues of the sants. St. Patricks, at Mott and Prince Streets, erected in 1815, and witha very spacious interior, was formerly the cathedral. Church of the Most Holy Redeemer (German), at 3d Street andAvenue A, is a rich Byzantine building, with lofty roof, costly altar,and a spire 265 feet high.
