Description
English: Latin copy of Epistola de insulis nouiter repertis, published in Paris circa 1493. This is the copy of the letter written by Christopher Columbus announcing his discovery of the New World and addressed to Sanxis, treasurer of Aragon. As described in an accompanying printed note, this copy was presented to Harvard University by the curators of the Bodleian Library, Oxford, in September 1936, as a gift in honor of the 300th anniversary of Harvard's founding.
