Summary[edit]

Description
English: A longtime illuminated fixture on Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo, New York is this vintage neon sign for Hodge Liquors, located on the east side of the street between Hodge Avenue and Bryant Street. The store opened its doors to the public on December 6, 1933 - the first day of legal alcohol sales after the repeal of the Volstead Act - making it America's oldest liquor store in continuous operation. The sign itself dates from no later than the 1950s.
