of ill-health. On his return from the armyhe settled in Mendota, where he practiced medicine for thirty-five years. Dr. Corbus has been identified with the Republican party since its organiza-tion, and has given it his earnest support; he voted for Abraham Lincoln forPresident in i860. Wedded to the medical profession, and devoting his constantthought to that science, he had left to others the active management of partyaffairs, but has always performed the duty of a citizen in attending the electionsand frequently attending County and State Conventions of his party. He is amember of the Illinois Medical Society; the North Central Medical Illinois Soci-ety; the Grand Army of the Republic, and a Companion of the Loyal Legion.He has been a member of the State Board of Charities for twenty-three years,acting as President of the Board a portion of the time. At present Dr. Corbus is Superintendent of the Illinois Eastern Hospitalfor the Insane, located at Hospital, Kankakee county, 111. 420
