Vehicle new in 1921, make was Dort (G. Brooks)

The Hindmarsh Volunteer Ambulance service began operating using an ex-Army vehicle on 26 June 1921 and responded to 111 calls in the next four months. It did not charge fees for call outs, though people who benefited from its service often paid a donation. The Hindmarsh Volunteer Ambulance service was taken over by the St John's Ambulance Services in 1952.
