..... or Germania ? ? The epic scale and those deco eagles.

Vintage postcard - The previous bxw photo of the parade with the flags and army jeep was taken in the middle of this bridge. Here it's called the Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Bridge, which I guess was its official title. Technically this is State St. which led from the Capitol complex to Penbrook (aka East Harrisburg) and from there out into the suburbs where my family eventually moved.

Note the doors at the base of each column. I used to wonder what was behind them when I hung out in this bridge. We lived a few blocks from the other side.

Note also the steel mill sign (out of focus), the Harrisburg Steel Corporation, which can be seen in some of my dad's photos on this bridge. (See below).
