Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg) Test-Positive test device

Summary[edit]

Description
English: HBsAg stands for Hepatitis B Surface Antigen. A positive result for HBsAg indicates the presence of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) in the bloodstream. Hepatitis B is a viral infection that affects the liver and can lead to both acute and chronic liver disease. When a person is infected with HBV, their immune system produces antibodies against various components of the virus. One of these components is the HBsAg, which is a protein that is found on the surface of the virus. Detection of HBsAg in a person's blood indicates an active infection with hepatitis B.
