English: Gravestone, Farfield Friends' Meeting House, Bolton Road (B6160), Addingham This stone is dated 1687, before the meeting house was built and at a time when Quakers were denied burial in parish churchyards, so that burial grounds were made in plots given by sympathetic landowners. In this case the land was given in 1666 by Anthony Myers of Catgill near Bolton Abbey. |
