Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Gjøngehøvdingen, der foregår under den Første Karl Gustav-krig i 1657-1658. Ib Abelsøn, hans søster Anemarie og hendes mand gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen med deres lille søn med flere gønger i baggrunden. Ane Marie beder et fadervor, før Ib Abelsøn og Svend Poulsen tager afsted med de penge, som de har gemt i den døde kronhjort i forgrunden. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion. Svend Poulsens udseende er også fantasi, for der kendes ingen portrætter af ham.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Gjøngehøvdingen by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1657-1658. Ib Abelsøn, his sister Ane Marie and her husband Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen with their little son as well as several gønger in the background. Ane Marie says the Lord's Prayer before Ib Abelsøn and Svend Poulsen takes off with the money they have hidden in the dead red deer in the foreground. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) was a real person but the story is fiction. The look of Svend Poulsen is also fantasy as there are no known portraits of him.
