Description
English: Houston Belt and Terminal Railway Bridge over Buffalo Bayou, Houston, Texas. Photo taken inside the gearbox. This large gear transmits power from the electric motor at the lower right to the system of gears between the motors, and then to the shaft on the left, connected to the pinion, which moves the rack, raising or lowering the bridge.
