Summary[edit]

Description
English: This garage door spring is fully extended; if it snaps, the spring could go anywhere, including possibly injuring a human or (more likely) damaging a car or wall. The solution is to insert a metal cable (not shown) inside the spring, and secure the cable at both ends with strong connections. As a result, if the spring snaps, the two sections of spring will be forced to stay safely around the safety cable.
