Summary[edit]

Description

View to north from inside a vertically dipping Franklin gabbro dike plucked away somewhat by glaciation. Society Cliff Formation limestone forms the walls. The dike continues up the hill, crosscutting Arctic Bay Formation sedimentary rocks. There are a few boulders of carvable skarn marble and hard gabbro among many boulders of massive limestone in the bottom of this natural cut.

All in all, a scenic exposure of local geology that helped explain the provenance of Arctic Bay's marble deposits.
