Description
English:

Several tall fruit trees with tall trunks and high, leafy branches grow in a grassy area in front of a house.

Minute Man National Historical Park, the site of the first battle of the American Revolution, is significant in areas of military, commemoration, and literature. Most or all of the native forest within the North Bridge Unit had been cleared for agricultural use by 1775. Agricultural use of the landscape continued into the nineteenth century and then began tapering off in the early twentieth century. Mature fruit trees that are present in several locations are possibly remnants of historic orchards. Since 2004, the NPS has removed secondary growth from six former agricultural fields, significantly improving the agricultural character of the historic landscape. About 60% of the landscape remains covered by secondary growth. Mature fruit trees are also present in several locations, possibly remnants of historic orchards.
