Monument of composer and kapellmeister Franz Abt in Brunswick, dedicated July 13, 1891; melted down for its material to support the war machine during WW II. Design by Carl Friedrich Echtermeier (* 1845; † 1910), cast by Hermann Heinrich Howaldt (*1841; †1891). The swallows on the monument’s base are reminiscent of a well-known song composed by Franz Abt: When the Swallows Homeward Fly.Deutsch: Fotografie, reproduziert als kolorierte Postkarte Nr. 491 von Zedler & Vogel.
