Français : Cette peinture de Frans Francken II a pour sujet un cabinet d'art et est daté de 1619. Elle appartient aux collections du KMSKA (Musée Royal des Beaux-Arts d'Anvers) sous le numéro d'inventaire 816. La photo a été prise lors de son accrochage au MNHA (Musée National d'Histoire et d'Art) de Luxembourg, pendant son prêt en 2018-19 à l'occasion de l'exposition "Drama and Tenderness".
On y retrouve de nombreux éléments typiques d'un cabinet de collectionneur tels que des pièces anciennes, médailles, animaux et coquillages exotiques, une serrure asiatique (japonaise ou chinoise) mais aussi des tableaux. La madone entourée d'une couronne de fleur est une des œuvres de Frans Francken II. Sur la droite on peut remarquer une référence à l'iconoclasme dans la figure à tête d'âne. Frans Francken II reprends des éléments présentés ici (tableaux, hippocampe...) dans d'autres tableaux avec la même thématique. |
