Description
Deutsch: Frankfurt-Bockenheim, Blick von der Friesengasse, der vormaligen Neugasse, in die Appelgasse. Laut dem Chronisten der Stadt Bockenheim Hermann Ludwig, stellte die ortansässige Familie Appel 1870 einst Grund und Boden für die Anlage dieser Gasse zur Verfügung. Ein Georg Appel aus Eberstadt wurde seit dem 12. Juli 1860 Bürger der Stadt Bockenheim und durch Heirat Eigentümer des sogenannten Mühls Garten, der vorher der Garten des Gasthauses zum Schwan am Kirchplatz 5 gehörte, das als Storchennesthaus bekannt war. Das sogenannte Mühl'sche Haus selbst war bereits vorab am 05. Juni 1872 von Gustav Reiner Mühl an J. Adolf Karl Wilhelm Roth, Gerber von Hausen, verkauft worden. Vor dem Haus Appelgasse 4 führt ein Weg zu einer kleinen, versteckten Grünanlage im Hinterhofbereich der Häuser der Appelgasse und Grempstraße. In der Appelsgasse 12 befindet sich der Sitz der Frauen-Wohnungsbau-Genossenschaft e.G. c/o Wohnbund Frankfurt, das sogenannten Lila Luftschloss - Bauen von Frauen für Frauen.
