Title
Fragment of a copper alloy post-medieval purse frame, c.1450-1600AD.
Description
English: Copper alloy object that appears to be a fragment of a post-medieval purse frame dating c. 1450-1600AD.  The object is broadly circular in section and is decorated with a criss-cross pattern.  Both ends of the object have been broken but appear to be the remnants of drilled spindle holes.  This is more obvious at the lower, thicker, end of the object.  It is difficult to see what the original shape of the frame would have been as the object is bent and distorted.  The surface is slightly rough with a mid green patina.

For a possible parallel on the PAS database see the more complete example recorded as LON-FAD5B7.

Length: 69.2mm; diameter: 4.6mm tapering to 2.4mm; weight: 12.9g.
