Description

Staff Sgt. Derek Detherow, a native of Wasilla, AK, 2nd Platoon, C Co. 135th Armor currently attached to Task Force 1/6, hands a food parcel to a woman in the Sadr City district of Baghdad, Oct. 23 as 1st Lt. Christopher Yong, a native of Whittier, Calif., and Staff Sgt. Detherow's platoon leader watches. Each parcel contained 1 liter of water, a can of meat, a bag of beans, a bag of rice, a package of tea, two packages of pasta, a can of peas and a can of tomatoes. The food was requested by a member of the Sadr City District Advisory Council.
