Español: Bandera de la ciudad de Cimitarra (Santander).
EL COLOR AMARILLO: simboliza la gran riqueza , la grandeza y el calor humano de nuestra tierra cimitarreña. EL COLOR BLANCO: simboliza la PAZ tan anhelada y de la cual ahora disfrutamos gracias al amor de nuestro Dios. Igualmente significa la humildad y la fraternidad de todas las comunidades de diferentes partes del país que habitan en este municipio. EL COLOR VERDE: simboliza el verde de los campos. La ganadería, la esperanza, la pujanza y el deseo de superación de sus habitantes. EL COLOR ROJO: esta representado en dos franjas rojas que bordean la riqueza petrolera; ellas hacen referencia a las vidas humanas que perecieron en la época de la colonización de esta inhospita selva carareña; igualmente simboliza la sangre derramada en la época violenta de nuestro municipio. EL COLOR AZUL: simboliza la gran hidrografía que posee este municipio y principalmente el privilegio de ser bañado por uno de los ríos más importante de Colombia como lo es el río Magdalena. LAS 11 ESTRELLAS BLANCAS: representan cada uno de los corregimientos que hacen parte del territorio cimitarreño; se representan en forma de estrellas porque, las estrellas están en el firmamento y han sido guías para el hombre, igualmente representa los lideres comunitarios de cada uno de los corregimientos serán los guías para unir y lograr un desarrollo grande para Cimitarra. EL TRIANGULO: Hace referencia a la ubicación geográfica siendo un punto equidistante y céntrico dentro del país, por lo tanto le da una situación privilegiada ademas, por la generosidad de su clima que tiene lluvias frecuentes la hacen una tierra muy fértil, que con la pujanza y alegría de su gente permite disfrutar del goce de esta hermosa región, que redunda en progreso, poderío, paz y bendición.
