| Description |
English: A five-masted ship in the China Sea or Gulf of Thailand, from an anonymous planisphere of Munich representing the Moluccas Islands (Kunstmann IV) [Jorge Reinel and Pedro Reinel], ca. 1519. Facsimile of 1843, Bibliothèque nationale de France, GEAA564 (RES). It seems that this is another early Portuguese attempt to depict large Javanese junk (jong), but since the artist is not familiar with it, the hull is drawn like a carrack.
