Summary[edit]

Description

A wider view of the fire boat water salute to the big ships. The Spanish ship, Galeón Andalucía, is near the horizon in the center. Large ship on the right is the US Coast Guard training ship, Eagle. Way in the distance, just visible thru the haze is an oil tanker waiting for space to open up in Portland harbor.

One of five sister ships built for sail training in Germany in the 1930s, Eagle was included in reparations paid to the United States following World War II and the Coast Guard took her over as a training ship. (Web Site)
