Summary[edit]

Description

(1 in a multiple picture album) In the 1800s a group of Mormons broke ground southwest of Zion National Park to build the town of Grafton, UT and to farm the land around. It must have taken a lot of toil to clear the land and put in the fence posts, cut from local trees. Then barbed wire was strung.

The town and farms thrived despite attacks from hostile Native Americans until the Virgin River flooded the land. Slowly the people moved away until all that is left are a few buildings and these fences. Today they keep watch on the silent land.
