Statistics as to the average length of life in prosperityand poverty, according to Kalb, are: — Of i.ooo prosperous persons born, at 5 years of age57 died. Of 1,000 poor persons born, at 5 years of age 345 died. Of 1.000 prosperous persons born, at 50 years of age443 died. Of 1,000 poor persons born, at 5 years of age 717 died. Of 1,000 prosperous persons born, at 70 years of age765 died.
