Title
Family gathering on J M Hudd's farm at Bletchley, near Strathalbyn 1916
Description

The image shows a gathering of the family of John Mossman and Adelaide Hudd on their farm at Bletchley. The occasion was probably to farewell the soldier John Yeo Hudd (1896-1950) who enlisted in the AIF in March 1916 and embarked with the 21st Reinforcements for the 3rd Australian Light Horse the following August. He returned to Australia in 1919 after service in Egypt. Besides John Yeo Hudd in uniform, those who can be named with reasonable certainty are John Mossman Hudd (left rear) and his wife Adelaide (on John Yeo's left), their 15 year old son William (front) and 12 year old daughter Marnie (holding dog). The others may be sons and daughters (in law) for Adelaide's mother, Mrs William Brooks (see GN01755).

For images of John Hudd's farm, see GN01751-59.
