Summary[edit]

Description Portrait of Francis Alexander Caron Scrimger, VC, MD. Worked with 2nd Canadian Field Ambulance unit during 2nd Battle of Ypres, and has been credited with giving the order to urinate on handkerchiefs during chlorine gas attack on Canadian lines ('though it is questionable whether he originated the order). Won a VC on 25 April, 1915, during that battle.
