Description

^
F. W. BOLGIANO,
-Bolgiaiio's Celebrated Big-
Head L.ettuce. — Experienced
gardeners who have long grown
Lettuce say that in this sort they
have found for the first time a per-
fect Lettuce. This is the most
beautiful Lettuce ever introduced,
and forms a compact head, Avhich
pleases everybody and captures
the market. Under all circum-
stances this Lettuce commands
good prices. Our markets have
never had enough to satisfy the
demand, because its very beauty
makes it too attractive to pass. It
resists winter's storms and with-
stands summer's heat. It is al-
ways crisp, and has a mild fiavor.
When opened it becomes a table
ornament, such is its beautifulform
and color. Packets, 5 and 10c.
Ounce,-15c. i Pound, 50c. i Pound
80c 1 Pound, $1.50.
A
Golden Queen Lettuce.—
A very desirable early variety
for outside, and second to none
for forcing, and produces
cabbage-like heads of large size
and superior quality. Outside it
is a pale green, and inside holds a large crisp hear
of cream yellow color and delicious buttery flavor.
It is the result of continuous careful selections, and
shows how intelligent attention improves the lettuce.
The most careful growers give particular praise, and
consider it first-class in all respects. It will please
you. Packets, 5 and 10c. Ounce, 15c. i Pound, 50c.
i Pound, 80c. 1 Pound, $1.50.
J^ BOLGIANO'S NEW EARLY SPRING LETTUCE.
\j In the early spring' months this splendid Lettuce does Ita
beet, producing large, cabbage-like heads, which are uniform
in size, tender, crisp, and sell for the highest prices in the
market. Although a new variety, it has already had a favor-
able introduction, and won approval from our best lettuce
growers. Packets, 5 and 10c. Ounce, 15c. %, Pound, 40c.
Pound, 60c. 1 Pound, $1.00.
Bolgiano's White Seed Summer Lettuce.
A perfect heading out-door Lettuce, especially during our
dry hot summer, because it is long standing and always
tender and pleasant to the taste. It spontaneously heads
from the start, the heads growing larger as the plant ma-
tures. It does equally well for forcing under glass in hot
beds, cold frames, greenhouses and for outside cultivation.
Packets, .5 and 10c. Ounce, 15c. .4 Pound, lOc.
X Pound, 60c. 1 Pound, $1.00.
olgiano's White Loaf Lettuce
GILT EDGE STOCK FOR CAREFUL GROWERS.
The best of all. Has large, solid heads, suitable for
frames or outdoor. The most experienced truckers pro-
nounce our White Loaf Lettuce the best they ever grew.
Lettuce in frames and outdoor is a most important item
with our large truckers. To suit their purpose a lettuce
must form a reliable head, be crisp, with pleasant tlavor.
These qualities they find in our White Loaf, which is
rised in large quantities for fall and spring soAving, and
yinakes a paying crop. Packets, 5 and 10c. Ounce. 15c
/ )i Pound, 40c. 1 Pound, $1.2.5.
~ ig Boston Lettuce.— Identical in color, shape and
reneral appearance with famous Koston Market Lettuce; 2
but is double the size. It is about one week later in ma
turing, but its solidity and greater size head make it a
very valuable sort. Suitable either for forcing in cold
frames or open ground planting. The Big Boston is
wanted by market gardeners and truckers, because it al-
ways produces large, solid, salable heads, and because it
heads up well at all seasons of the year, and is of crisp,
tender quality. Packets, 5c. and 10c. Ounce, 15c. )i Pound,
40c. j^ Pound. 65c. 1 Pound, $1.2.5.

It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.
