Summary[edit]

Description Four U.S. Air Force North American F-51D Mustang fighters (s/n 44-63644, 44-63664, 44-73139, 44-73313) from the Michigan and Washington Air National Guards in flight, in the late 1940s. The F-51D-25-NA 44-73139 flew into ground on 19 October 1950 in Korea while in service with the 39th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 35th Fighter Interceptor Wing. It was estimated that the pilot, 1Lt Lamar B. Longshore, experienced a vertigo.
