Summary[edit]
DescriptionEmpty storage compartment in the attic in German house.jpeg | Empty storage compartment in the attic of a German house. The 10 units were formerly used by the about 20 people living as tenants in the four storey house, until the end of the 2010s when their use was no longer included in new leases due to security reasons. This kind of segmentation of an attic is more rare in Germany than not. It shall be noted that the fence-like, about 2,20 m high wooden walls are also the typical construction style used in cellars of multi-apartment-buildings in Germany. Thereby, larger cellar rooms of up to some 100 square meters are divided into such wooden compartments of between about 4 square meters to 10 square meters, of which one belongs to each apartment and is part of the lease. In newer buildings, the wood has been replaced by similar structures made from sheet metal. |
