Description
English: This aerial image shows Egypt's brown or chocolate colored Desert Mountains. In Ancient Egypt, many mining expeditions were dispatched by the pharaohs to the desert mountains to extract various ores including gold, copper and beryl, and semi-precious stones such as malachite, galena, turquoise and lapis lazuli.
