Summary[edit]

Description

I chose to do an antique treatment with Silver Efex Pro for this tall ship tied up in Portland harbor. Earlier photos on Flickr show this ship in the parade into the harbor. It was constructed in Germany and used during WW II as a training ship for the navy. It came to the US as part of war reparations and is now a US Coast Guard training ship.

I was watching the BBC News America this evening and they interviewed a German who during the war was in the German navy aboard this ship. He later immigrated to the US and in 1959 rediscovered this ship that he loved quite by accident in Connecticut. If your are interested his account is here.
