Summary[edit]

Description
English: Photo of the behind the scenes of the live interview conducted by the content creator Catarina Barreiros, with the participation of the Member of the European Parliament Alessandra Moretti. They had a conversation on the EU’s eco-design framework for sustainable products.

Alessandra Moretti is the leading member of the European Parliament on the new eco-design rules for more environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient products.

The framework aims to improve different aspects of products so that they use less resources and are easier to reuse, upgrade, repair and recycle.

Products should be durable and the lifetime of a product should not be limited through design features. The framework wants software updates, consumables (e.g. ink cartridges, light bulbs, coffee pads), spare parts and accessories to be available for an appropriate period.

A new “product passport” containing accurate and up-to-date information would be set up to increase transparency and help consumers to make informed choices.
