Description
English: The former Grove City National Bank building, 165 South Broad Street at West Pine Street, Grove City, Pennsylvania, June 2020. Originally organized in 1900 as the Peoples National Bank, the company took on the name Grove City National Bank in 1908 after a merger with another local financial institution. The Neoclassical-style bank building in this photo was constructed the next year; salient architectural features thereof include a pair of engaged Tuscan columns on the front façade and a balustrade serving as a parapet along the flat roofline. Grove City National Bank merged into the Northwest Pennsylvania Bank & Trust Company in 1968 and ceased existing as an independent entity; its former headquarters now serves as a branch of Citizens Bank.
