Description: Scrapbook page contains one photograph showing the Djamäa el Djedid (New) mosque, with annotated information about the mosque's architecture.

Transcription: Built 1661 in form of Greek cross by an Italian architect who was put to death by the Dey for using that form. The square tower or minaret is about 90 feet high and has an illuminated clock. Its exterior is effective, its interior bare and white washed. Unlike Tunis infidels can get admission to the mosques of Algiers.
