Description
English: Sgt. Samuel Rosado (right) prepares to give a tetanus shot to Staff Sgt. Gary Stoney (left) as they work in the field in Kinston, N.C., on Sept. 23, 1999. Soldiers working around the contaminated flood waters from Hurricane Floyd are getting the tetanus shots as a precaution. Stoney who is attached to the 230th Support Battalion, Raleigh, N.C., is working to provide fresh drinking water to victims of the hurricane. Rosado is a medic with the 449th Aviation Group. Both soldiers are with the North Carolina National Guard. Hundreds of National Guard troops in North Carolina and surrounding states been called on state active duty to provide disaster and humanitarian relief for thousands of people hit by Hurricane Floyd.
