Cole sailors were invited to take part in Veterans Day receptions and ceremonies at the White House and Arlington Cemetery. The Arleigh Burke class destroyer was the target of a suspected terrorist attack in the port of Aden, Yemen, on Oct. 12, 2000, during a scheduled refueling. The attack killed 17 crew members and injured 39 others. |
