| Description |
English: Deepsyke Forest. The sign even gives a grid reference for emergency use. A wise move. The forest is a new one on the southern edge of Auchencorth Moss. Usual sitka, but there are areas of larch too. Once the felling cycle begins it will become an attractive place. Given the mining/quarrying heritage, this could be a good orienteering area in a few years, but the map will be a bit green.
If you visit, take care. It's a popular dog emptying area and the track is in a disgusting condition. Check every footfall. |
