| Description |
English: Death Knell The official notice of closure for all railway facilities on the Manchester-Oldham-Rochdale railway line. It is planned that after two years (!) a tram service will serve the route. Whether the good citizens of Oldham will feel a wait of two years for a tram providing a considerably slower journey to Manchester and no through ticketing beyond the county - let alone moving freight from road to rail within the borough - amounts to an "upgraded" service, as stated on the notice, only time will tell. |
