| Description |
English: Dead children tied to a tree, Village of Kobzowa (powiat of Tarnopol), 1923. Four killed Roma children tied to tree by their mentally ill mother after her husband was arrested and her Roma group dissolved. The murder took place in night of 11/12 December 1923. (Rzeczpospolita: [1]).
Many sources incorrectly attribute the photo to the times of Massacre of Poles in Volhynia, 1943.
Polski: Dzieci cygańskie zabite przez 32-letnią obłąkaną matkę, w nocy z 11 na 12 grudnia 1923 r. po aresztowaniu męża i rozpadzie grupy cygańskiej, w której dotąd żyła, w przekonaniu, że grozi im niechybna śmierć głodowa. Matka następnego dnia zgłosiła się na policję i z polecenia sądu została umieszczona w zakładzie psychiatrycznym. (Rzeczpospolita: [2]). Zdjęcie zostało celowo wykorzystane przez wiele źródeł, do działań dezinformacyjnych polegających na fałszywym przedstawianiu widocznych dzieci, jako ofiary zbrodni UPA |
