Nederlands: De afbeelding toont een hoofd 首, bestaande uit een oog met haar erop, pars pro toto staande voor een mens die loopt 辵 en als het ware op een kruispunt 行 staat. Dao is een belangrijk begrip in Chinese filosofie en betekent (onder andere) weg ('De Weg'), methode, aanpak, spreken.
English: The seal shows a head 首 (an eye with hair on top), symbolizing a man walking 辵 and standing as it were on a crossroad 行. Dao is an important concept in Chinese philosophy; meaning amongst others: way (also in the sense of 'The Way'), method and speak. |
